Rob Lowe
Membership Director 2021-2022 term

I'm running for my second term as membership director of MORE.  During my first 2 year term I have assisted in the growth of the club from 1200 members to near 1500 members over the last two years.  I have also assisted with annual events that help grow membership including the Spring Fling and the MORE Summer Party.  In the past I have also served as vice president of the club for 2 years and as ride coordinator of the club for 4 years.  I regularly lead rides from Wakefield Park on Thursday nights for the last 10 years and also volunteer is an assistant trail liaison at Wakefield.

Clay Deming
Activities Director 2021-2022 term

I have been a member of MORE and have ridden MORE maintained trails in the area since the organization began.  I’m looking for ways to pay back all those miles of trails I’ve used over the years.  We are often found riding on Muddy Branch, Seneca Bluffs, Fountainhead, and Meadowood with a 6 year old leading the way. My wife and son recently discovered the sMORE’s program and I’m working to lead and establish a sMORE’s weekend ride both for the kids and new families that have little to no experience on trails. Most of my experience over the years has been with various races (cranky monkey, adventure, on/off road triathlons), but I hope to continue to build on the traditional social meetings and rides MORE is known for.   I’d like to push for more Ride Leaders to educate and serve those new to the area and new to biking, and work on smaller activities/events as well.  Hopefully there won’t be too many more virtual events in store, but I enjoyed the MORE Trails event so I know it is possible to continue in 2021 as needed.

Kathy Mihm
Communications Director 2021-2022 term

As a life-long cyclist and runner, I learned rather late in life that mountain biking is the most fun of all – and I am devoted to sharing this realization with anyone that will listen. While not mountain biking, I am a hydrogeologist and have worked for over 30 years in environmental consulting with experience in project management, technical analyses, data management, report production, conflict resolution, and effective communication. I have volunteered with MORE over the past few years serving as Trail Liaison and a member of the MOCO Epic planning team, making GIS-based trail maps, and leading numerous MTB rides and beginner clinics. While offering the MTB skills clinics, I recognized a lot of community-wide interest in beginner clinics. One of my goals as Communications Director is to make mountain biking more accessible and welcoming to beginners from diverse backgrounds – it’s time to have MORE people learn to ride on MORE trails and find out how much fun this is! Additional goals for this position are to enhance communication with the community and government organizations on the importance and stewardship of natural surface trails in the DMV area, to take some of the mystery out of where and how to ride for riders of all abilities, and to spread the community spirit of MORE’s good work.
